German artist Anne Seiler deals with global trade and the production of textiles and fashion. She is particularly interested in appropriation processes, copyrights, authorship and the black market. Employing traditional craft techniques, the artist dyes, prints or embroiders textiles. She employs appropriation of major fashion brands, using craft techniques, so that the counterfeit is transformed into a new product. Seiler calls these textiles

"Halbware" because they exist in the space between the raw material and the original brand product.
